Dunnellon, Florida has long been popular with our neighbors just south
of us in the Tampa/St. Pete area. It’s been a small town getaway for
years.
Now we’re getting a range of people from many more areas - from California to Key West. The one thing that I have observed is the contentment with “THE WAY THINGS ARE HERE!) I love it. Nobody wants to change it, they just want a part of it! Who can blame them. Thus, my saying at the beginning of my Website “FEEL LIKE YOU’RE LIVING ON TOP OF YOUR NEIGHBORS?” We have room left, affordable (comparatively speaking), and depending on the area you’re looking. Dunnellon is surrounded by nature on all sides. We have the Rainbow River which is crystal clear, and the scenic Withlacoochee which takes you right back to the old south and the way Florida used to be. The beauty of these rivers is unspoiled and truly natural, full of wildlife. The Turtle on my site is an original “River Cooter”. If they find a log they like, heck, they’ll just all lay on top of it and each other! These great turtles can be found all up and down the river! Lake Rousseau is famous for its trophy bass fishing. We’re surrounded by world famous Horse Farms, riding stables and golf courses, Gulf Hammock which is popular with many of our local hunters, Goethe National Forest with its hundred of miles of riding trails and the Gulf of Mexico. We are just as close as a person needs to be to all major Florida cities and attractions…You’re close enough, but still able to breathe.
